The Death Of Baldur shirt was printed for the final tour surrounding Our Season Draws Near and serves as one of two designs connected to the OSDN album. The art is from the early 1900s by Willy Pogany (whose art is also featured on the Odin The Wanderer shirt) and depicts the trickster god Loki guiding the hand of the blind god Hadnur to kill his brother the sun god Baldur with a sprig of mistletoe, the only object in the world he was not immune to. Some people liken this image to Jesus which is interesting as both him and Baldur are murdered solar deities and sons of the primary god in their respective mythologies. Both are resurrected in order to begin a new golden age and approach to life. Classically, they represent the rebirth of the sun after the long darkness of winter. We found this design appropriate as OSDN is a winter album and as we move away from it on to a new album cycle, we see the beginnings of light from a new sun on there horizon.
